Build a Home for Our Pollinators
Help support Australia's incredible native bees by creating a welcoming place for them to nest! In this engaging, hands-on workshop, you'll build your own native bee hotel using a variety of natural and recycled materials while learning how these remarkable pollinators contribute to healthy gardens and ecosystems.
Discover the fascinating diversity of Australia's native bees and explore the nesting preferences of different species. You'll learn which materials are suitable for cavity-nesting bees, why correct hole sizes and nesting materials matter, and how to position and care for a bee hotel to give native bees the best chance of success.
As part of the experience, every participant will also contribute to the creation of the Windy Acres Native Bee Tower—a collaborative installation that will provide habitat for native bees and become a lasting feature of the farm for visitors to enjoy.
Spring is the perfect time to provide nesting habitat for native bees as they become more active and begin establishing new nests. Join us for this fun and educational workshop and take home a practical project that will help support pollinators in your own backyard while making a lasting contribution to Windy Acres Farm.
